Carmel World Guard Wins WGI Scholastic World Championships!

Carmel World Guard won the Gold medal at the Winter Guard International Championships in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday night. Carmel’s guard performed their show “Full Spectrum” to a sold out crowd at University of Dayton Arena.

After awards, Rosie Queen, the guard’s director said, “This guard has been amazing all season. Truly one of the hardest working, determined, and passionate group of young ladies I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They set new standards for Carmel High School but also for the scholastic groups in WGI.”

Carmel won the championship, with the score of 96.25, over strong competition from Arcadia HS (Arcadia, CA) and Flanagan HS (Pembroke Pines, FL). Twelve other winter guards from around the nation also competed in Scholastic World finals including Avon HS, Lawrence Central HS, and Warren Central HS.  For complete results, go to: WGI Finals Scores
